Sprout makes waves at Smith Lake

Sprout Fiber Internet helps The Lake House Store shape life and business on the lake.

Sprout recently visited Kassie Roberts, owner of The Lake House Store in Arley, to learn more about why she chose Sprout as their internet service provider.

Sprout: How does your business use Sprout?

Kassie: We run multiple businesses out of this location. We build homes with Legacy Lake Homes. We install pools and sell pool supplies with Smith Lake Pools. And then we have lake merchandise — anything someone might need to decorate their lake house, or if they need a towable or a kayak, we’ve got you covered. We do estimates, we stream music here, and we have a screen that lets you shop while you’re inside.

Sprout: Tell us about your Sprout process.

Kassie: They were quick to come out. They had us going within a week. Beth [Sprout representative Beth Kibler] was excellent to work with. She’s always available and takes really good care of us.

Sprout: What does having reliable internet mean to your community?

Kassie: Arley is so small — it’s like a family. It’s a tight-knit community, and Sprout has probably been game-changing, just bringing it into the homes and businesses here. Otherwise, there’s not very many other options for people, so it’s made a big difference for this community for sure.

Sprout: What role does reliable internet play in Arley’s real estate market?

Kassie: We were doing a development on the Bremen side of the lake, and that was a question we were getting early on — “Is there going to be internet?” Is Sprout going to be in the area?” One of the first homes we purchased on the lake, that was one of the big issues. Everybody was saying, sign up for Sprout, sign up for Sprout — because they wanted to make sure enough people were on the list so Sprout could get out there and have it in that community. It’s a big issue for the lake for sure.
